Notes on UL-Compliant Integration into the Machine
For UL-compliant integration of the FVG POS 100 sensor positioner into your production machine, it is essential to observe the following notes.
The UL certification of the product is only valid if the following safety requirements are met in accordance with the UL standard.
- The FVG POS 100 sensor positioner does not have its own emergency stop switch. An emergency stop switch must be provided on the overall machine line in which the sensor positioner is installed and must be located so that it is accessible from any operating position.
- All wiring terminals and connectors are evaluated for factory wiring only.
- The machinery must be supplied by an LVLE circuit (Low Voltage Limited Energy) or an energy-limited NEC Class 2 circuit with an overcurrent protection not more than 2 A.
- The power supply cable must segregate from other factory- or field-installed conductors so that a minimum permanent 6.4 mm (1/4 inch) separation is provided from a circuit with a voltage of less than 150 V to ground. For circuits operating with a voltage of more than 150 V to ground, a minimum permanent 50.8 mm (2 inches) separation must be provided.
- The grounding and bonding must be evaluated in the overall machine line.
- The following tests in accordance with UL 2011 were not performed and should be evaluated in the overall machine line: Operation of functional, emergency and safety components, surfaces subject to accidental contact
